centers and transit services will be closed Monday, May 28, to
observe the national Memorial Day holiday. However, Payne Park

Osprey, will be closed Thursday and Friday, May 24-25, while the

The
Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a public
hearing in Sarasota County at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, May 31 at the
Sarasota City Hall Commission Chambers. The PSC will hear public
input on a proposed rate increase requested by Florida Power and
Light.
The
public hearing is one of nine held by the PSC across the state.

in North Port by popular demand, The World Cafe event will be
held on Thursday, May 31, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the North Port
Library, 13800 S. Tamiami Trail, North Port. The World Cafe is a
forum for people with diverse points of view to come together
and explore ways to work together to build a sense of community.
"Adults of all ages and high school students are encouraged to
participate in a lively discussion where everyone has a voice,"
said Sarasota Partnership for Children Project Director Liza

County Emergency Management Chief Ed McCrane will be the
featured presenter at a faith-based and neighborhood association
disaster orientation entitled "Applying the Lessons Learned."
The event will be from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the
Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on the sixth floor of the
Sarasota County Administration Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd.,
