Beginning Friday, May 14, Beach Access # 7 at the intersection of Beach Road and Calle de la Siesta on Siesta Key, will be temporarily closed to pedestrian traffic to protect Snowy Plovers and their nests. Parking will still be available at Beach Access # 7 and beachgoers will be directed by signage to the beach through other nearby public beach entrances.

There are more than 150 parks and recreational sites encompassing 4,000-plus acres, miles of beaches, and unique environmental resources throughout Sarasota County and the municipalities of North Port, Sarasota, Venice, and the Town of Longboat Key. All offer many choices for leisure activities.
