County offers free Energy Upgrade workshops |
Got a caulking gun? Considering a new
air conditioner or more attic insulation? Then get moving -- and
start saving -- with a free Energy Upgrade workshop from
Sarasota County. The 30-minute workshops guide participants
through a five-step process for reducing their energy use and
lowering utility bills. The workshops are open to civic groups,
clubs, faith organizations and other nonprofit associations, as
well as businesses that would like to offer the workshop to
their employees.
Dale Lewis, an
experienced contractor, will answer questions and share methods
for saving energy that run the gamut from inexpensive
do-it-yourself projects to investments like installing
high-efficiency air conditioners and attic insulation.
Sarasota County developed the Energy
Upgrade program to help residents understand the many benefits
of improving a home's energy efficiency. The program receives
funding from the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Efficiency
and Conservation Block Program.
Reducing a
home's energy use can result in lower utility bills, a more
comfortable living environment and less in-home humidity.
Energy-efficient homes also have a competitive financial
advantage in a tough real estate market and contribute to a more
sustainable Sarasota County.
To schedule a
free Energy Upgrade workshop, contact the Sarasota County Call
Center at 941-861-5000 and ask about Energy Upgrade workshops,
or email info@energyupgradetoday.com. |
